Station to highlight eco-tips

TV station Real Estate TV has announced it is to screen a series of shows on the issue of green building and how to make homes more eco-friendly.

Announcing the series, called Property Matters, the station said that examples of outstanding green building, energy efficiency and the installation of renewable energy devices in the home will be highlighted.

It stated that it would also offer information on how to make existing homes greener, providing details of how installations such as solar panels to heat water or rainwater harvesting to supply toilets can be part of a greener home.

Recent research has suggested that those who make their homes more eco-friendly could find themselves able to sell them at a higher price in the future.

Research by Knight Frank and EC Harris reported in the Daily Telegraph this week found that 59 per cent of homebuyers would be willing to pay extra for an eco-friendly home.
