'Stick to your budget' when it comes to green improvements

British Eco Energy has advised that homeowners need to balance their costs when it comes to energy saving features.
A spokesperson for British Eco Energy has claimed the sensible option is to weigh up the amount of money "that you put in" with what you will get in return.
According to the Energy Saving Trust an insulating jacket for a hot water tank will only costs a few pounds and pays for itself quite quickly.
The trust suggests that around a third of a home's heat loss is through the walls, so cavity wall insulation is one of the most cost-effective ways to save energy.
It has been found that buyers are willing to pay up to £15,000 more for a green home that will result in smaller utility bills.
More than 50 per cent off people also believe that a home's green features will become more important in the future than its decor.
