Stop-tap disaster during kitchen renovation

A DIY enthusiast from Blackpool has faced a tide of watery chaos this week as he embarked upon renovating his kitchen.
Damian Green realised he needed to cut off the water supply in order to carry on his work but when he went to find the stop-tap outside, he had some trouble because it was buried under a pile of concrete.
His water supplier United Utilities claimed it wasn''t their responsibility so Mr Green had to just stop work on the new kitchen because he had nowhere else to turn.
He said: "United Utilities just told me we should get a plumber out.
"Why should my brother have to pay for a plumber because somebody else has concreted over the stop-tap."
He added that his kitchen was "like Niagara Falls" which wasn''t ideal because he lives with his wife and their three children. But finally United Utilities helped him out as a goodwill gesture so he did get the dream kitchen he wanted.
