Summit to discuss brownfield land usage

A developers' summit will be held in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham later this month in an effort to outline future housing strategy for the region. It has been revealed.

The conference will take place on September 25th and will see councillors, developers and landlords discuss ways to regenerate the local areas, which include Shepherds Bush and White City.

With over 100 hectares of brownfield land potentially able to be regenerated, officials are looking to build 6,000 new homes in the near future, with 50 per cent of this number specifically designated as affordable housing.

"This is an ambitious council determined to regenerate parts of the borough, bringing new life, new jobs and new housing opportunities," council leader Stephen Greenhalgh outlined.

"By unlocking the potential in H&F that our location, land values and transport links provide, we are committed to improving our borough, providing a borough of opportunity for all.

"The summit is about encouraging ideas and fostering long-term relationships with development partners. However, make no mistake, development will be on our terms and we are only interested in having a conversation if it is in the interests of our residents," Mr Greenhalgh concluded.
