Survey reveals relevant renovations

A new study investigating what the key features are for homebuyers looking at a property has revealed that a large kitchen is the most important factor.
The Legal & General research has found that 16 per cent of respondents opted for the kitchen as the most-wanted item, with a similarly large-scale garden coming next on the list, popular with 15 per cent of respondents.
The potential for renovation in itself was also ranked highly, cited by nine per cent of respondents. The same proportion said that a large main en suite bedroom was their dream feature.
"The look and feel of today's homes is changing to reflect the changing demographics of different groups of people. What may be important to some is different to others when it comes to buying their home," commented Legal & General's general insurance business head of communications Ruth Wilkins.
A recent study revealed that more and more homeowners are viewing their properties as investments rather than simply as a place to live.
