Sussex house prices tipped to stay high

The notion that property prices in Sussex may see a crash has been rejected by estate agents in the two counties.
Last week the Argus ran a story suggesting a crash may be on the way.
However, local estate agents have told the paper they do not expect such an event to occur.
Chris Weatherstone of Weatherstone Properties in Brighton stated: "It is going to be a slightly tougher market this year but the talk of a crash in Sussex is rubbish."
Spokespeople for both Bidwell's estate agents and Maslen estate agency used the word "scaremongering" to describe the previous day's report.
Brighton's lack of spare land was one particular issue that would help keep the city from seeing a price fall, according to Barrie Alderton of Barrie Alderton estate agents.
Mortgageintroducer.com reported last week that property portal propertyfinder.com's January traffic figures showed that Brighton was the most searched for city in the UK for buyers and sellers.
Sustained high prices in Sussex may prompt those wishing to get on the housing ladder there to consider the self build option.
