UK has the most DIY fans in Europe

Britons are the biggest DIY and home renovations fans in Europe with soaring property prices encouraging people to spend more on their properties to spruce them up as they are a major asset, according to a new report.
Datamonitor, an information analysis firm, run an annual Consumer Insights survey which this year found that Britons are revamping their homes in droves.
Kitchens and bathrooms are the most popular targets for renovation with more Brits doing these up than any other European population.
Nick Beevors, from the firm, said: "Many consumers, when they see their major asset appreciating in value, tend to feel richer and as a result are more likely to spend their extra cash on it."
In the UK 40 per cent of people had embarked on some renovation in the last five years compared to just ten per cent in the Netherlands.
The British Insurance Brokers'' Association today warned that improvements to your home are treated in the same way as other investments and covered by insurance policies.
