Women 'own more homes'

A recent survey found that 44 per cent of women are paying a mortgage, compared to 37 per cent of men.
The Fairinvestment.co.uk survey found that 19 per cent more women are homeowners than men, despite earning up to 25 per cent less than their male counterparts.
Commenting on the results, Sharon Bratley chartered financial planner at the site, said that it could mean "men are slower to save and not as keen as women to get their foot on the property ladder and gain the independence that comes with it".
However, it could also point to the fact that more men are renting as they are waiting for the price of houses to fall further before buying.
A similar survey by Standard Life Bank found that more men than women - 33 per cent compared to 26 per cent - are in favour of buying a prefabricated home, according to the Move Channel.
It was also found that 33 per cent of renters would buy a prefab or self build home.
