Youngsters to 'self build their own future'

A new scheme has reportedly been launched that aims to help young people build their own housing.
Unemployed teenagers with little to no experience in the building trade have spent months working alongside developers to construct a series of one-bedroom flats and four-bedroom houses in east London, according to the Telegraph.
Billy Bass, 20, says that the self build project was a "great experience".
"To realise it is your own blood, sweat and tears that's produced it is terrific," he added.
Mr Bass claims that helping to create your own abode makes you "respect the place" and look after it more than you would anywhere else.
According to the newspaper, most of the children involved in the work came from difficult backgrounds, while some had been homeless or in care.
Of the thousands of people that embark on a self build project every year, this highlights the notion that anyone can try their hand at it.
