Serial self builder Carl Stoakes is coming to the end of his self build home in the beautiful seaside town of Whitstable in Kent. His delightful four-bedroom detached home in a contemporary classic style with an ultra modern spacious interior has netted him a huge profit.
Mr Stoakes borrowed £250,000 from BuildStore; the large plot of land cost £170,000 and build costs were approximately £80,000. Local agents have valued the house at just over half a million…and it is not even finished yet.
The family are renting a property nearby so they can keep an eye on local trades people. Carl had a head start on the project management as that is what he does for a living but he believes anyone can self build, as long as they seek the help of professionals. To date, the project has gone very smoothly and family are looking forward to moving into their new home in October.
