When building one's own home
the location is without doubt one of the most important considerations.
Personal preferences will decide whether it is a place in
the country, a new house in a small village, an urban setting,
or a site near to friends, relatives or work. There may also
be other important personal considerations before the decision
is made on where you want to live. Self build gives you the
chance to choose a location suitable to you for whatever reasons. |
|  Recently,
BuildStore clients decided to self build when they were unable
to buy an existing house in their preferred setting -a pleasant
residential area close to a large city. This setting suited
them because of the proximity to schools, the nearby Airport
and the accessibility of the couple's workplaces. The area
was very popular and houses rarely came on the market. When
they did, they were sold at exorbitant prices, quite beyond
our clients' resources. Our clients searched and found a suitable
building plot in this area. The plot was part of an extensive
garden of a large house where the owners were retired and
finding the upkeep of the garden difficult. A price was agreed
and our clients also enjoyed a healthy input in the final
design of the house providing for personal ideas and items
which they could never have enjoyed in an existing property
The end result was a fine five bed roomed villa with exactly
the accommodation they sought, and in the location that was
ideal for the whole family.
